Considered as the band which brought grunge music to its glory and made it famous across the globe, pearl jam is a well-respected band from the 90’s and early 2000’s and for the last of quarter of a century pearl jam has earned the respect they have today, in the time of Curt Cobain there wasn’t any sort of music that would come close to his but pearl jam overshadowed him for a time and it was pulling crowds into concerts like crazy and concerts would happen regularly all over the world, but at that time Europe was the place where some of the biggest concerts would take place and some would argue that this is still the case but concerts are huge all over the world now, but at the turn of century some of the biggest crowds and performances by some of the biggest bands would take place in Europe and European concert tours were a regularity for pearl jam as well.
Lead singer Eddie Vedder and the rest of the band were collecting accolades as well, the band won MTV’s best music video award along with three other major awards in 1993 for their record Jeremy and this would go on to become such a hit, and in the year 1996 the band won the Grammy for the best Hard Rock performance and that is when their reputation grew even more, pearl jam’s journey has not being straightforward and this band has stood apart for not just its performances but for the bold decisions it has made over the years, for instances they cancelled a tour as a protest against higher ticket prices and did not make any videos for their second album as the norms of the mainstream music industry at that time.
